An employee of a South Moger Avenue business called police at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, to report that there was a group of men hanging out and blocking the store’s entrance.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the group of men, who agreed to move to a different location without incident.
While speaking with the men, a person in a nearby parked van began screaming at the officers and cursing them repeatedly, police said. When he would not calm down, he was advised that he was under arrest for disorderly conduct.
According to police, Bedford resident Marteen Antwi, 19, refused to get out of the van and had to be forcibly removed to be taken into custody. It was unclear why he was shouting at the officers.
Antwi was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration, both misdemeanors. He was also cited for disorderly conduct, a violation. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to respond to the charges.
